Peter Cameron

Peter Cameron is a barrister (England & Wales), and international arbitrator, with appointments at both ICSID and the ICC. He is the Professor of Energy and Climate Law at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London, and Director of their programme in corporate and commercial law and international business law.

He has authored many publications including a major work on international investment law (Oxford University Press, 2021), and a World Bank publication, ‘Oil, Gas and Mining: A Guide to Understanding the Extractive Industries’, which has been downloaded more than 86,000 times since its publication.

Peter was professor of law at the European University Institute in Fiesole, Italy from 2002 to 2007 (Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies).

Peter has also acted as an Expert Witness in cases heard before tribunals and courts in London, Paris, Milan, Delhi and Singapore.

Peter is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has been elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

He is the President of the UK Energy Law Association and heads the scientific committee of the European Federation of Energy Law Associations (EFELA).
